Analytics Dashboards
These interactive dashboards provide a matrix-based approach for strategically transitioning politics and civic discourse in Africa, using knowledge and evidence from best practices gathered online.
The dashboards identify existing gaps in Africa’s digital political space to drive a comprehensive, intentional, and strategic transitioning of politics and civic activities. They deliver best practice scenarios and recommendations, validated through stakeholder engagement and based on a review of existing literature.
At Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), we support good governance by bridging the gap between governments and citizens. CcHUB’s civic tech program, GoVote, has achieved significant milestones, increasing civic engagement and improving public service delivery.
Interactive analytics dashboards
Civic Tech Landscape Dashboard
The civic tech dashboard visualizes the existence of solid and well-documented evidence of numerous use cases of digital tools for national and grassroots activism across Africa.
- It showcases the African civic tech landscape and provides active monitoring, tracking, and research on online civic engagement, Media, & internet governance in Africa, and trends in terms of digital activism, user rights violation, access and limits on contents.
- It also provides an understanding of the diversity, impact, implications, and effectiveness of digital civic tools on engagement across Africa.
A key recommendation from this is a multi-stakeholder approach to prioritize the development of crowdsourcing tools to help improve participation in public discourse and development research and to improve government service delivery & accountability.
Sentiment Analysis Dashboard
This is an interactive tool derived from a sentiment analysis we carried out during the Nigeria 2023 General elections in order to:
- Understand the attitudes and experiences of citizens
- Compare patterns and trends of the election process
- Assess changes in attitudes and behaviors from each election cycle leading up to the 2023 elections, across the six (6) geo-political zones in Nigeria.
Key issues covered in this research analytics include; voting patterns, election security, vote buying & voter suppression, and youth participation.
The data analyzed were output from web scraping to uncover trends and hidden insights about citizens’ participation and the Nigerian electoral landscape. As a part of our ongoing strategy to deepen knowledge and share resources, we would continue to update this dashboard on civic participation.
